Set up email in Thunderbird

  1. Open Thunderbird: Launch the Thunderbird application on your computer.

  2. Account Setup:

    • Go to the menu and select File > New > Existing Mail Account....

    • A new window will pop up asking for your name, email address, and password.

    • Enter your name, email address, and password, then click Continue.

  3. Manual Configuration:

    • Thunderbird will attempt to automatically configure your account. If it fails, you can manually configure it.

    • Select IMAP as the type of incoming server.

    • Enter the incoming server (e.g., mail.yourdomain.com).

    • For the outgoing server, select SMTP and enter the outgoing server (e.g., mail.yourdomain.com).

    • Enter your username (usually your full email address).

    • Click Done to finish the setup.

  4. Verify Settings:

    • Thunderbird will now attempt to connect to the server using the settings you provided.

    • If everything is correct, your account will be set up, and you can start using Thunderbird to send and receive emails.
